Located in Southeast Asia, Laos Popular Republic is one of the three countries that formed the French Indochina, together with Cambodia and Vietnam. Crossed from top to bottom by the Mekong River, this country has a history full of colonial conflicts and fights against Occident due to populist socialism, system prevailing since 1970, and which then led to that more than 10% of the population had to leave the country. Unlike its neighbours, “only” half of the population practices Buddhism, coexisting other trends like the animist.
