The best of Cambodia
A stay in the spectacular Angkor with a tour by the best of the Kingdom of Cambodia: the oldest temples in the country, dating from the 7th century and a visit to the capital, on the banks of the Mekong River.
Arrival in Siem Reap. Custom proceedings and baggage collection. Welcome by the assigned guide and transfer to chosen hotel for check-in. After that, we will begin the first visits in this wonderful place of the planet, accompanied by our guide and our private transport. The first visit will be the unique and wonderful Angkor Wat temple, considered by many people one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Then, we will contemplate the sunset in the surroundings of Phnom Krom, where we can also taste a snack with typical local products.
Before the sun rises we will get up early to head in Tuk Tuk to Angkor Wat and enjoy an unforgettable sunrise. We will return to the hotel for breakfast.
Today we will meet the south gate of Angkor Thom, from where we will have the chance to take a short bike ride (1h), visiting the temples of: Bayon, Baphuon, Phimeanakas, and the terraces of the elephants and the Leper King. The visits will continue, knowing the temples Ta Phrohm, Banteay Kdei and Ta Keo. Before returning to the hotel we will enjoy of a one-hour reflexology massage at a local centre.
Early in the morning we will go to Tonle Sap Lake and visit its floating village. In the afternoon we will visit the temples of Neak Pean and Preah Khan. During our stay, we will visit the crafts school “Artisans d’Angkor”, where we can observe and buy precious works in silk, wood and stone.
Breakfast is followed by transfer by road to the rural village of Kampong Thom. After check in at the Hotel Sambor Village and having some lunch we will visit the group of temples of Sambor Prey Kuk, well known for being the most ancient temples of Cambodia, dated from the VII th century.
Breakfast is followed by a trip to the close-by village of Kampong Cham. After check in and having some lunch there is a comprehensive tour of the Nor Kor Bacheay temples, which are the most important temples in the province, dating from the XVIII century, followed by a trip to a rubber tree plantation. At the end of the afternoon there is a transfer to the capital Phnom Penh. After check in at the hotel where there will be some time to relax.
After breakfast we will begin the visit to the city of Phnom Penh, visiting the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, the National Museum and the Museum Toul Sleng. In the afternoon, we will visit the Independence Monument, Wat Phnom, and we will also enjoy a cruise along the Mekong River, to enjoy the sunset (1 hour).
Breakfast at the hotel chosen. Enjoy free time to get lost throught the “Russian market” where we can buy an interesting craft selection. After that, private transfer to the airport for return flight.
