Luang Prabang was conceptulaised by legendary American hotel designer Bill Bensley, each of their 23 rooms features a different design, albeit that embraces the unique characteristics of Luang Prabang, from the colonial French to visiting Chinese traders to the colorful hill tribes that still dwell in the mountains around the resort. The interior of each room features one-of-a-kind antiques and period pieces personally sourced by Bill Bensley from his frequent travels to remote corners of the world, helping to establish Rosewood Luang Prabang’s unique story, and representing our famous signature ‘Sense of Place’.

Within the city of Luang Prabang, UNESCO World Heritage Site, Amantaka, inaugurated in 2009, is composed of a set of French colonial buildings, where the old hospital of the city was set. Its facilities and services are at the height of the prestigious Aman chain, undoubtedly the most luxurious in the world.

The hotel is located in a huge area of lush gardens on Phou Vao Hill (translated as the hill of the kites) with beautiful views over Mount Phou Si, the sacred mountain of Luang Prabang. It has 32 spacious rooms and 2 suites. All of them are decorated in traditional style with local materials, such as the rosewood, and sumptuous finishes in cotton.
